Xanga Update
Okay, so away from healthcare for a post, and back to the fun stuff.
The Xanga internship has continued to go smoothly. Eight posts a week sounds like a lot, but mostly they're 200-500 words, so it's really not that much. I am, however, starting to run a little dry on material, so if any of you have any dating-related anecdotes, questions, or comments that I might be able to spin into a post, I'm more than open to suggestion!
To give you an idea of what one of my posts looks like, here's the URL to what was probably my most commented on so far.

A lot of what I do is take ideas from personal experience, and maybe hype it up by addressing certain questions to the readers, but I can also get a lot of external inspiration just from my daily activities. Take, for instance, that post. You can read it to find out what I mean. :)
One of the first things my primary editor told me when I began working was that blogging for Xanga would really help me develop a tough skin. I've been pretty fortunate, though. No blatant flames coming my way yet. A lot of contributors can't say the same, though. I think a lot of it has to do with how I present my topic. I'm almost never one-sided or forcefully opionated, just presenting a topic. Call me Switzerland, I suppose. Some people thrive off of the kind of attention where you're ticking people off and causing online fights. No thanks, that's not for me. I like to try to have people like and get along with me, and don't do very well with direct confrontation -- even if it is over the Internet. :)
