Winding Down

It seems like it's been forever since we've had to post!

Well, the semester is coming to an end and everything seems to be picking up even more at my internship. There's the kick off of the R.I.S.E. Mentorship Program, the Graduation Video Tribute, and tons of more stuff happening daily that needs to get out to the press. So, now what?

I was put into charge of the Video Tribute and with the ending of the semester and the short notice of the project I have not been able to work on it. If I get hired in (we are discussing this now) or at least fulfill another three months as an intern at this site, then I can complete this project. This would be great because my work will be displayed for five high schools.

Before Thanksgiving, I had to call over 130 parents and students reminding and getting RSVPs for the Futures Conference held at one of the high schools. This conference was very important because it was to gather imput on how to keep GRPS performing well especially in time of a budget crisis. The last time I had to make all of these redundant phone calls was when I first started. The great thing about this was that my supervisor apologized for the busy work and explained to me that sometimes this work just has to be done; I completely understand.

This week, my supervisor wanted me to attend a meeting with him at one of the high schools regarding fundraising and sponsoring. I didn't have to actually speak or maybe I wasn't even needed, but it was nice that he wanted for me to be present and involved.

So far, everything has been great.
