Out of ideas

Part of my internship includes writing for the organization’s blog every week. It’s really hard to come up with something new that people actually might want to read, especially when not much is happening at the organization.
Once a month, I also create a newsletter. This week, I’m supposed to be thinking of ideas for things to put in it, but I’m completely out of ideas. I was going to write about a fundraising event that was going to be held March 8th, but it had to be canceled. Scratch that idea. Most of my great ideas are spent on the weekly blog, so when it comes time for the newsletter, I have nothing new or exciting to write about.
It would really help if I had a co-worker or someone who knows the organization to brainstorm some ideas with, but I’m pretty much on my own. My supervisor leaves it up to me to create something. Last month was the first newsletter, so I have no past newsletters to look back on and see what other people did. It’s up to me to decide the format, the contents, everything.
Don’t get me wrong, I like working by myself and having the independence to determine the style and direction of my work. But collaboration with someone else once in awhile wouldn’t be bad, either.
