NON-PAID EDITORIAL INTERNSHIP

Great American Publishing, publisher of eight national trade magazines, is searching for an editorial intern to work in the company's editorial department. The job would focus on writing and editing for the company's print and online publications. The intern will be responsible for coming up with story ideas, conducting interviews and writing stories for all publications on a variety of topics. The intern also will be responsible for editing submitted press releases and information to fit house and AP style. Additional duties may include working with the resource library, working with association listings and other duties as determined by the editorial director.

Hours for the position will be determined once a candidate is selected. The position is flexible and can work around a student’s schedule. Recent graduates also will be considered. Applicants should have experience working on deadline, knowledge of AP style, basic computer and photography experience and have writing samples to submit. The position is unpaid but will bring the intern published clips — both print and online — as well as hands-on experience in the ever-changing multimedia publishing business. Position will be located at the company’s office in Sparta, Mich.
