Motivation
This week I find it harder to be motivated. I have so many reading assignments and certainly no shortage of writing assignments coming up. I am usually so very good about being motivated and getting my work done, however, when things start piling up, I feel overwhelmed and it’s hard to know where to begin. Prioritizing becomes difficult for me I believe because much of my work in my internship doesn’t have an immediate due date. I think I will begin setting more distinct goals for myself. For instance, every week I think I will plan to have at least five pages of my transcription project edited.
I have emailed my internship coordinator and I plan to meet with her this week so I can update her on my progress and see if she has anything else she wants me to complete. I still have to schedule a follow up interview, but I’m debating on holding off until I get the okay from my internship coordinator. I revised my questions, but as I go through and edit the interview she conducted, I keep coming up with new questions to add.
Also, I think that fact that I don’t have a set place to work is starting to affect my productiveness. I thought this would be fine for me, however, when I get busy with my other classes and the immediate projects that are coming up for them, it’s easy to let some things go to the backburner. The writing center is having a staff writer’s retreat this weekend. I think I will attend and get much of my writing for class done for the week so that I can really focus on my internship next week.
