Meeting with Writing Center Group
I had a meeting the other week with the group working on the writing center project. We got together to verify where we all were at in the project and to figure out what needed to be done.
I was feeling a little guilty going into it because due to my busy schedule I kept pushing the project aside telling myself I'll get to it tomorrow. As anyone knows who has tried this tactic, I didn't get to it "tomorrow" or the next day. But to my relief the other ladies had been just as busy and everyone had been relaxed concerning the project for a while. It's really great that everyone is so understanding.
Touching base really helped everyone get re-motivated. I think having a clear list of what still needed to be accomplished was the main reason. One of the struggling points for all of us over this project has been keeping track of the documents. We've used google docs which has been very useful, but when you have over thirty documents at a time floating back and forth between everyone it can get confusing at times. In person meetings are definitely a must, at least periodically.
I for one have decided that in order to get more work accomplished for the project I need to change my "plan of attack." I had kept meaning to work on the project when I had a free evening to get a bunch of it done at once. This was a bad plan because when I actually have a free evening (which is rare) I want to do something social, like go on a date with my husband. So for now on I am planning on just working in small chunks on nights that I have to do homework as well. It seems like Thursdays are working out good for me to get an hour or two done a week, and that is better than nothing!
