It's a Mad World...
"Damn!" I mutter under my breath as I realize that I've just passed the next business on my drop off list and need to turn around YET AGAIN on this insanely busy street. I have gone through 4 years of college in the GR area without a car; this is my first summer with one. Slowly but surely I am learning my way around, the old fashioned-way too. Armed with only my chicken scratched notes of street names and which way to turn (all of the gps's need to be charged as they are worn out from the big drop off a week ago), I am slowly, painfully learning my way around GR. I don't get lost easily as long as I have street names to go by, but I'm also searching for a whole bunch of businesses, none of which have decent signs that stand out from the street --until I've driven past their driveway. I am going around doing some refills on spots where we deliver, and also dropping off another newsletter which we are now being paid to deliver. I make my way in and out of bars that I didn't know existed, trying locate where the mags should be put before asking someone. As my luck would have it, about half the time, people would be standing around, blocking the spot from my vision or they would be placed at the door opposite from where I entered. Oh well, now I know right?
We've been finishing up event listings this week-- they've been pretty much the only thing I've worked on besides delivery one day. I know a lot of people find them tedious, and occasionally I do too, but I love the research aspect. Research is my strong point, I love to find out about new things, and go searching for more info. Overall, a pretty good week.
