Grand Rapids Literacy Center Seeks Volunteers

The Literacy Center has settled into our home at 1120 Monroe NW, and we are thrilled at our spacious, new surroundings. Thank you for all your patience as we transitioned from the Grand Rapids Main Library to our new home.

As our services continue to grow, we find the need for more coverage in the reception area of our office. We are looking for two volunteers to work at the front desk from 11:45 pm-5:00pm on Friday afternoons. We realize that your weekends are precious, so we thought that each volunteer could volunteer to work every other Friday. Of course, as conflicts arise, the two volunteers could opt to switch Fridays. Your responsibilities would include answering phones, greeting visitors, filing, and other clerical tasks for the Adult Tutoring Program and for the Literacy Center of West Michigan as a whole.
