Everything is falling into place

All of my articles are done! I’m so happy. I realized I wrote around 20 articles when I was printing them out and putting them into my portfolio. 20 doesn’t seem like a lot, but it really is! The last thing left to do is attend the “Mega Writing Workshop” the Friday of Finals week. Michelle was the one who gave it that title. I think it fits since we will workshop every single article for the whole magazine.

My whole writing portfolio is finished too. I wanted to get it out of the way because I have a photo project due this Thursday and I have to cut all the matboard myself and construct each one individually for 10-12 photos.

Also, I just got a summer job! I will be taking care of an 8-year-old autistic boy named Ben. He is really sweet and I’ll help teach him life skills. I met him and the family and they are all very nice. I get to start training ASAP. I will end up working close to 30 hours each week too.

Anyways, back to my internship, I am really glad that I took this opportunity to intern at the DSG because it helped me figure out different styles of writing. It also helped me come up with interesting headlines. I learned more about AP style as well.

I look forward to continuing my internship at the Children’s Assessment Center. I have 3 people interviewed so far and will be taking the summer to hopefully find out ALL the history and have at least an outline of what the book is going to be like.
