Countdown!

As of today, I have three articles left to write for my internship. This makes me very excited because I really want to see the finished product. The ones I have left to write are about athletics (ranging from intramural sports to being a part of Laker Nation), study abroad, and 3 little articles that all combine to form one article about giving back to GVSU (these involved Battle of the Valleys, Relay for Life, and Dance Marathon).

Last week I completed an article about Public Safety, the program ACES, and finally finished up my Volunteer Opportunities article.

For my internship at the Children’s Assessment Center, I was able to get an interview over the phone with the main founder of the organization. It was actually a challenge because he does not like to be interviewed by anyone. But by the end of the interview he warmed up to me and we both were making jokes. This is why I love interviewing people. It’s a challenge at first and I love showing them that I really am genuinely interested in talking to them as well as an easy-going person to talk with.

I think the internship at the Do Something Guide helped me become comfortable with interviewing and it was the stepping stone I needed to get to my next internship at the CAC.
