Coordinating Schedules

This week has been an exercise in tedium. I’m still revising the oral history interview for Sonya Hollins, which was roughly an hour and 15 minutes long. I’m ten pages into my revision. I met with my internship coordinator to talk about my progress. I told her I’ve contacted Sonya Hollins and plan to meet with her next week for a follow up interview. I’ve had a little scheduling mistake. I originally told her one time and forgot I had something to do during that time, so I have to rearrange the time and day. She hasn’t responded to my email yet. I will probably call her tomorrow morning if I don’t hear from her today. Otherwise, I will be forced to schedule something during spring break and I’d rather not.

I don’t have a great deal of guidance from her right now. I think she expects me to be far more independent, however, I know she is very particular about how she wants things written. So I would hate to do so much and then backtrack. On top of that, she told me she is thinking about incorporating pictures to make a photo essay. Since she’s so busy and I can’t meet in person, I’ve only received emails of what she wants with links to websites who have done something similar. I have to somehow, find time, to meet with her and ask her what she exactly wants to do with the photo essay concept.

I’m losing my voice on top of all this. I just hope it’s back in time for my interview next week.
