Back to the Internship

Last week was my first week back from Spain, and my first week back at Serendipity. It was nice to get back into the swing of things, but I feel like I was much less productive last week than all of my previous weeks. Perhaps it was jet lag or just the leftover excitement of being in Spain. Either way I need to get back to my usual pace!

I've been working on "states" again. We're working on a new issue so now I'm going back and redoing all of the states. It's proving to be more difficult than I thought it would be. I have to look for more interesting things to do and see and they can't be the same as previous issues. Some states are more difficult than others. I mostly have problems with it because after a few states are done I feel like I'm repeating attractions. Sure, I might be working on Texas when before I was working on Colorado but more often than not they have a lot of the same things to do and see. So that's kind of bogging me down a bit.

I still really like the environment there. Everyone is so friendly still and they all seem to have pretty good relationships with one another. I'm sure they all have their things they don't like about people, but I don't hear office gossip happening really. I suppose they could be censoring themselves around me, though.

Even in the weekly staff meetings they all seem to just work really well together. If one department is having problems with something they all work to help out. They don't seem to go around blaming people for things. I'd definitely like to work in a place like that some day!

Matt told me that some time next week we'll talk about the feature article he's having me write. I'm so excited but incredibly nervous at the same time! I just don't want to disappoint him.
