One might think that two weeks without class would allow lots of down time. This is not the case for me. Science Olympiad (SO) is this Saturday. I will be working a twelve-hour shift (all overtime) and be back in on Monday to work my regular work week.

I've spent some time looking for job postings for a travel writer. There aren't many out there. But while I was looking I found quite a few postings for bloggers. I had an Aha! moment.

It has been a wild couple of weeks. Things would have been smooth sailing if the unexpected project hadn't taken a week out of my life. Regardless, tomorrow I will arrive at Eberhard Center around 7:15 am, get the registration table set up, do a quick training session with the student volunteers, and spend most of my day working at the Math in Action Conference.

This is my busy season at work. It starts around September and runs through April, but January through March is the busiest. That means I am under a lot of stress at this time. And I usually roll with it fairly well.

I have a clearly defined list of projects which will serve as my internship duties and I work on them because they are what I do. Writing in media other than the traditional is a large part of my internship.

I have been in my internship now for one and a half weeks. I have been in my current position for the last ten years. So is it possible to have an intern experience in such a situation? I think so.

The internship description and learning objectives have clearly outlined areas in my job where I can focus on writing. I have always had to do some writing but had not classified it as professional writing. The truth is, I do quite a bit of writing.
